Audrey, working with the geriatric population has grown on me a lot too. Fieldwork rotations are kind of like when your parents force you to eat something new as a child. You may have no interest whatsoever in a particular thing, that is, until you try it. Great post!
I love that you enjoyed this experience! I would also like to learn about different interventions. We were often on a time crunch and did not have much time to create motivating and client centered interventions. Maybe we can work on creating a toolbox together! That is a great idea!
Sounds like you had a great experience at your rotation! The geriatrics population grew on me too before coming to school. I love that OT is so broad, and we can work with all types of populations. I also am looking forward to learning more interventions for the older adult population, and I think that developing a "toolbox" before we go on our level II rotations is a great idea!
